No one ever told them "No" in a caring way. They all think they have the right to take others lives. Lets try a few public executions of these boneheads, I don't care if they are black or white. Make an example of them. Of course this is just frustration talking.

Why Are Schools Targets Of So Much Gun Violence?
by Brokeback Watchtower inwhy are so many youth flipping out and gunning down fellow students?
is there something seriously wrong with society?
does the public education/indoctrination system need some serious tweaking?

What’s your favorite "News" website?
by Wonderment innews in general are supposed to be unbiased.
but given how commercial and political interests get their tentacles around them, finding a fully unbiased news website is not so easy.. here in america some would rather trust bbc or reuters than they do cnn or fox news.
any favorites?.

Witness No More - any thoughts?
by dozy infor those who don't know , there is an ex-jw "activist" in the north of england called mark who demonstrates outside kingdom halls , focusing on the child abuse issue and similar topics.
he regularly updates his visits on his youtube channel , which has gained something of a cult following .
occasionally ( albeit less frequently , as he is now well known ) he gets into the kh & shouts and disrupts the meeting.

Random Musing of an ex-JW between a rock and a hard place.
by StarTrekAngel inmany of you may recall pass postings of mine where i mentioned my plans of moving away from my current neighborhood.
mainly because my office got moved and now my commute is about one hour each way.
my employer is pretty flexible so showing up on time, for now, is not an issue.

We don't believe in luck, remember? You must think of your family first. Get out of Dodge, move. Its your life you have control over, not your mother in laws'. She must make an unconditional choice to join you. Let the "Faithful" brother in law step up. If he doesn't, she will become symptomatic and when she accepts that she NEEDS your help you will happily receive her with open arms. Your wife must stand by you in this, talk it over. I'm sure it wont take long for your mother in law to join you. The decision will be difficult enough without enslaving yourself to the WT regimen again. Be strong.

The Gestapo were intimidating in their jodhpurs. symbolism and swastika branding. Its the power all that symbolized that made them so intimidating. With the Org. their authority comes from your willingness to be intimidated by the "titles" they don't have, right? Elder? CO? Its fascinating how we were trained to demure to them. Take hold and look at them as any other person you interact with in daily life. They may have more responsibility but you are NOT their responsibility. Take the power away from them by treating them as equals. Tell them "Sorry, I'm not up to a visit, maybe next time round." They can't kick you out for being dismissive.

Receiving so much hate recently....
by stuckinarut2 inwell, as you all know, my wife (unstuck) and i are not df or da.. we just stopped attending several years back after my "apostate" online activity was found by a nosey employee of ours while she was working in our office (long story if anyone wants to know - it would have to be another thread).
we never met with any elders - no congregation judicial activity occurred (as we would never consent to do so anyway).
so our policy has been to be the same kind, loving, normal people we have always been.

An elder that I knew from before he became one was on my mind last week. I haven't seen him for at least 9 years or more. He was young and had a heart attack back them. This past week I was just thinking about how he might be doing. I am not DF'd or DA'd but long faded some 15 years or so. Yesterday, in the market, who do you suppose I ran into? This elder and his wife. He looks good, though he's had another heart issue. A stint fixed it. I told him I was thinking of him and he smiled with genuine appreciation. I always liked him. He was loyal to me, but not enough to pursue a friendship after my disappearance. That's ok, I am just glad to know he's ok.

Sometimes it's the little things....
by dubstepped ini'm listening to a podcast where a former elder describes how another elder conducted the watchtower study about hyperbole.
the elder called it hyper-bowl.
soon the whole congregation called it hyper-bowl.

We had a CO who wore his watch so that the face of the watch was in the direction of the palm of his hand. In other words the band was on the top of his wrist and the face on the underside. We all thought it was clever that he wore his watch that way so he could check the time unobserved, as looking at the back of your wrist would attract attention. Soon all the brothers were wearing it that way. Finally I mentioned how clever he was to wear his watch that way. He revealed the truth that he had a bump on his wrist and it was painful to wear it normally. This caused a mass reversal.

"World conditions have never been as bad as they are now"
by Sour Grapes ini went to a funeral yesterday and ran into a jdub.
of course, he approached me and it didn't take more than a minute into the conversation for him to get into the jdub gloom and doom mode.
he said that world conditions have never been as bad as they are now.. i looked straight into his eyes and said, "i think that world conditions were a lot worse during world war two.".
